However, you need to keep in mind that the R8 Revoler can not shoot immediately and needs 0.2 seconds to cook the hammer. This can be actively used to your advantage by peeking the corner at the exact moment of the shot going off. As it only comes with 16 bullets, spamming or missing shots is not an option.

Both options are definitely viable, but the Desert Eagle is preferred by the larger part of the CS community due to its long history in multiple CS games and its high impact potential for a fair price. But if you consider yourself a fun player, go give the R8 Revolver a try. Even if it does not have the best reputation, it can be used to dominate eco rounds against full-buy enemies.
